Radikal Dub Kolektiv
was formed in 2002.and is based on d.i.y. underground ethics. It consists today of; Vanja - keys, Jadranko - guitar, Vrki - bass, Vedran - drums and Damir - sound. On the first album (2004), they started to create a sound with their combination of dub, reggae, ska, punkrock and trance/ambient sounds. The material on ‘Bass Matters’ represents the beginning of an new era for the band, when band concentrated on playing and producing live, upbeat dub music. Even though some of these songs are already 2 years old, this is the first release of studio recordings of them, and we think they still contain new energy. Since our first album was released, we lost almost half of the band; due to maternity, personal issues, differing attitudes and death! Despite all this we somehow managed to almost continually play shows including a couple of European tours, and a good number of one off shows. Members of the Kolektiv were and still are involved in many different activities; such as playing with other bands (Abrakha-dub-r, Bijes zdravog razuma, Bilk, Drotweiler, Motus, Nula, Radikalna promjena, and others), music publishing and distribution through labels:like Humanita Nova, Zvuk Mocvare, and Kingston, party and event promotion

RDK SOUNDSYSTEM also plays and composes music; playing with a live digital dub mix.

Brithmark a.k.a. Nate KinsellaBrithmark, unter diesem Namen veröffentlicht Nate Kinsella im Oktober sein erste Solo-Album „the Layer“. Der geübte Multiistrumentalist, nebenbei passionierter Sammler von Musikinstrumenten aller Art, hat dabei sämtliche Musik selbst eingespielt und auch gesungen. Ihm ist es gelungen, ein unheimlich konzentriert und durchdacht kingendes Album vorzulegen. „The Layer“ entstand über einen Zeitraum von vier Jahren an verschiedenen Orten. In dieser Zeit war Nate auch als Schlagzeuger und Keyboarder bei Make Belive aktiv. Der lange Aufnahmezeitraum gab den Songs die Möglichkeit zu wachsen, sich immer wider zu verändern und schließlich eine angemessene Form zu finden.

Die Musik ließe sich als eher ruhiger, etwas verquerer, dabei aber immer hörbarer Indierock oder als experiementeller, schräger Pop ohne große Gesten beschreiben. Neben musikalischer Virtuosität dokumentiert „The Layer“ auch Nates Fortschritte als Tontechniker, hat er doch das Album größtenteil selbst aufgenommen. Neben der einzigen LP seiner Band December’s Architects wirkte er bisher u.a. an Produktionen von Owen, Sharks and Seals und Joan if Arc mit. Das jüngste Projekt war die Arbeit am Soundtrack zu „Orchard Vale“, dem Debüt-Film seines Cousines Tim Kinsella.

„The Layer“ erscheint in Europa Anfang Oktober als CD und Vinyl bei Coraille bzw. Dunix, in den USA bei “record label und in Japan bei Iscollagecollecitve.

Arms And Sleepers,

Cambridge, Boston, started one night in the back of an ambulance in Cambridge. In an alleyway a man was bleeding with a cassette player in hand, the play button still on. What sounded like recordings of a gospel choir blared from the tin speaker while down the street, a jazz band could be heard. The man was dying. He dropped the cassette player on the cement and closed his eyes, the sound carrying through the air into his ears for one last time. Though this moment in time died with him, his cassette lived on and Arms and Sleepers was born.

“Black Paris 86″ is a tight, intense record, showing a young band at a stage you wouldn’t expect it to be on yet. Connected to different kinds of music, from ambient-influenced indie rock to calm, sometimes hypnotic music with dozens of other styles flowing in, the album shows the development the band has made in the past year, resulting in a unique and original style. Masterd by Jeff Lipton (Karate, The Magnetic Fields, Josh Rouse, and….) For fans of Boards of Canada, Sigur Ros, etc…..
